2018-19 Season

To see what we’ll be playing next season, download a pdf of our 2018-19 brochure. The season starts with autumn concerts in Gloucester, Pershore and Cheltenham. The theme for our spring 2019 Cheltenham series is The Grand Tour. And our 50th anniversary concert in June 2019 in Cheltenham Town Hall features the Mozart piano concerto played at our first concert in 1969 by our founder, Douglas Smith.

Young Composers’ Competition 2018

We’re delighted to announce the results of our Young Composers’ Competition 2018:
The winner is Romain Bornes from Bristol, with Picric Acid
The runner-up is Katie Jenkins from Pontypridd, with Summer’s Wake
We congratulate these composers, and look forward to performing Picric Acid in our concert on 18 May 2019 in Pittville Pump Room, Cheltenham. There was a good number of high-quality entries to the competition, and the adjudicators had some difficulty in identifying the winner and runner-up. The orchestra thanks all entrants for their considerable efforts, and wishes them good luck with future compositions.
