Next concert

The CSO’s Grand Tour series culminates in a concert that will include the world premiere of the prize-winner of the orchestra’s recent Young Composer’s competition 2018. Romain Bornes’s Picric Acid, with a Dvořák concert overture, Mozart’s 25th piano concerto and the cheery Brahms 2nd Symphony, this is an evening that is sure to delight.

50th Anniversary concert

…and on 29 June we play our 50th Anniversary concert in Cheltenham Town Hall. Daniel Lebhardt joins us to play Mozart’s piano concerto no.19, which our founder Douglas Smith played at our first concert. Tickets on sale now.

2019 concerts

The theme for our spring 2019 Cheltenham series is The Grand Tour. This will include a performance on 18 May of Romain Bornes‘ Picric Acid, the winning work in our Young Composers’ Competition 2018. And our 50th anniversary concert in June 2019 in Cheltenham Town Hall will feature the Mozart piano concerto that was played by our founder Douglas Smith at our first concert in 1969. We are an ensemble of committed and experienced amateur, student and professional musicians, playing under the expert guidance of conductor David Curtis.
