Home

We are an ensemble of committed and experienced amateur, student and professional musicians, playing under the expert guidance of conductor David Curtis. We play a huge variety of classical pieces throughout the year in various venues in and around Gloucestershire.

Old Worlds, New Worlds

This is the theme of our series of three Pump Room concerts for early 2017. Dvořák was in the musical mainstream of the old world, while for many people Barber, Copland and Gershwin embody that of the new. Korngold, as if not to be outdone, achieved a transition from one to the other, lauded by Mahler before he left Europe, and grabbed by Hollywood once he arrived in the US. Hear Michael Foyle play Korngold’s beautiful violin concerto on 28 January.
