German Tour 2015

German Tour 2015

The tour took us to Cheltenham’s twin town, Göttingen, and to Mönchengladbach. We gave a concert in Göttingen itself, one in Dransfeld nearby, and one in Rheydt, in Mönchengladbach. Many thanks are due: to our German hosts and the twinning associations in Cheltenham and Göttingen; to orchestra members who arranged programmes, venues, itineraries, flights and accommodation; to the Van People, who drove our precious instruments to Germany and back; to the three German colleagues who joined us there; to Rachel Howgego, for wonderful performances of the Elgar concerto, and leading the cellos for the rest of the programme! See the Gallery for pictures.

Our Old Worlds, New Worlds series ends in the Pittville Pump Room on 29 April with Appalachian Spring, Rhapsody in Blue and Dvořák 7.
