Home

Come with us on a journey of imagination, rich orchestral colour, and dramatic flair. Berlioz’s overture Les Francs-Juges will set the scene, darkly thrilling and full of operatic drama. The mood then shifts to mysticism and majesty with Poulenc’s Organ Concerto, where sacred resonance meets neoclassical wit, and for which we will be joined by another old friend of the orchestra, organist James Lancelot. We then enter the evocative world of Mussorgsky, first with his rarely heard Scherzo, offering a glimpse of his youthful brilliance, and finally, the monumental Pictures at an Exhibition, a gallery of sound where every movement is a painting come to life. It will be a night of spectacle, where the music will drive the imagination.
